Exchange Rate

• USD1 = HKD7.95 (百年找換)
• USD1 = EGP17.6 (Bank in Cairo)[approx. EGP1 = HKD0.45]
• USD1 = AED3.59 (Travelex)+ service charge [approx. AED1 = HKD2.28]

Important things you need to know before you go

• Egypt accept EGP or USD; Abu Dhabi/Dubai accept AED or USD
• HKSAR passport holder : not necessary to pre-apply or buy VISA at Cairo Airport (USD25@) if visiting time is less then 90 days
• HK 百年找換 do not sell or buy EGP; you can exchange with bank or some international hotel in Egypt (Bank operating hours in Cairo are Sunday - Thursday from 08:30 - 14:00)
• Abu Dhabi Airport "Travelex" currency exchange charges different service fee (HK百年 buy and sell AED without service fee) (Service fee of Buying or Selling AED from/to EACH currency : AED10-99.99 (AED5), AED100-750 (AED15), > AED750 (2%);  [example : Buying AED1000 by USD - charge AED20 and Buying AED500 by HKD - charge AED15] 
• Buy back offer (AED20) is optional but staff charges without asking
• No currency exchange counter at Cairo Airport T2 departure hall; food store after check-in at departure hall accept USD and EGP.  Un-used EGP can exchange with Bank in Cairo or Abu Dhabi Airport "Travelex" [Travelex example : Selling EGP 1385 (in value of USD78) to buy AED190 included service fee (if selling USD78 directly should be AED265 included service fee); AED75 difference just for USD78]
• Cairo Airport : No indoor pathway between T2  and T3 (5 mins outdoor walking but securities / taxi drivers told you 5km)
• Cairo Airport website does not have maps of T2 and T3
• Tips required by "Securities" for entering T3 to look for sim card if you are not arriving at T3
• Cairo Airport T2 departure hall : food shops are only available after check-in
• Out of tourist area, most local people do not speak English
• 90% No USD change in Egypt (including Marriott Hotel), pay exact fee in USD or EGP, or mixture of both 
• Bus door keeps open, bus do not stop, slow down at stop point only.  Stop point without bus nos.  Local wait at stop point and use gesture to inform bus driver to slow down the bus and then jump into it
• Google map showed you walking routine to cross a Overpass
• No toothbrush, toothpaste and razor provided in hotel either in Egypt or Abu Dhabi
• Locals approached you for money, cigarettes and if you are Chinese "清涼油 cool ointment" as well
